The Japanese yen strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Wednesday.
The yen rose to a 5-day high of 118.62 against the U.S. dollar, from yesterday’s closing quote of 118.95.
Against the pound and the Swiss franc, the yen advanced to 2-day highs of 183.52 and 124.79 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 183.80 and 125.06, respectively.
The yen edged up to 134.56 against the euro, from yesterday’s closing value of 134.88.
If the yen extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance 116.72 against the greenback, 180.20 against the pound, 113.60 against the franc and 129.40 against the euro.
