United Kingdom stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrial Transportation, Mining and Health Care Equipment&Services sectors led shares higher. At the close in London, the FTSE 100 rose 0.36%. The best performers of the session on the FTSE 100 were Royal Mail (LONDON:RMG), which rose 4.58% or 19.40 points to trade at 442.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bhp Billiton (LONDON:BLT) added 2.78% or 38.00 points to end at 1407.00 and Anglo American (LONDON:AAL) was up 2.75% or 32.50 points to 1214.50 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were BT Group (LONDON:BT), which fell 2.69% or 11.20 points to trade at 405.50 at the close. Land Securities Group Plc (LONDON:LAND) declined 2.28% or 27.00 points to end at 1157.00 and easyJet Plc (LONDON:EZJ) was down 2.15% or 36.00 points to 1642.00. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1012 to 948 and 408 ended unchanged. Gold for February delivery was down 1.23% or 14.70 to $1180.60 a troy ounce.Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.17% or 0.64 to hit $54.09 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 0.85 to trade at $58.59 a barrel. GBP/USD was down 0.24% to 1.5520, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7846. The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 90.37.
