The U.S. dollar strengthened against the other major currencies ahead of European session on Thursday.
The U.S. dollar rose to 1.0175 against the Swiss franc for the first time since September 2010, from yesterday’s closing quote of 1.5109, respectively.
Against the yen, the greenback climbed to a 3-day high of 119.95 from yesterday’s closing quote of 119.24.
The greenback, which ended yesterday’s deals at 1.1838 against the euro and 1.5109 against the pound edged up to 1.1803 and 1.5061, respectively.
If the greenback extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.17 against the euro, 1.49 against the pound, 1.03 against the franc and 122.11 against the yen.
