Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher. At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 4.71%. The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT), which rose 7.49% or 0.6650 points to trade at 9.5460 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 6.99% or 0.1375 points to end at 2.1045 and Sonae (LISBON:YSO) was up 6.75% or 0.0715 points to 1.1315 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which fell 1.26% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.4720 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) added 1.04% or 0.0025 points to end at 0.2425 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 1.94% or 0.2450 points to 12.9000. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 61 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged. Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.26% or 0.0060 to 0.4720. Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.79% or 0.77 to $43.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 1.19 to hit $39.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.46% or 16.80 to trade at $1136.80 a troy ounce. EUR/USD was down 1.75% to 1.1416, while EUR/GBP fell 1.28% to 0.7272. The US Dollar Index was up 1.33% at 94.62.
