Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher. At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.40%. The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 12.75% or 0.0320 points to trade at 0.2830 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) added 4.80% or 0.0390 points to end at 0.8510 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 2.56% or 0.0001 points to 0.0040 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which fell 1.25% or 0.0740 points to trade at 5.8230 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 1.12% or 0.1350 points to end at 11.9250 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was down 1.12% or 0.0340 points to 2.9900. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 26 to 22 and 1 ended unchanged. Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.24% or 0.12 to $47.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.93% or 0.85 to hit $44.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 4.40 to trade at $1103.30 a troy ounce. EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1278, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7348. The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 95.74.
