Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower. At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 2.20%. The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which rose 4.46% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Marine Harvest ASA (OSLO:MHG) fell 0.98% or 0.95 points to end at 96.05 and Orkla ASA (OSLO:ORK) was down 1.05% or 0.65 points to 61.20 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which fell 8.01% or 4.8 points to trade at 55.1 at the close. Petroleum Geo – Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) declined 6.24% or 2.11 points to end at 31.68 and Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) was down 4.54% or 1.8 points to 38.4. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 127 to 50 and 5 ended unchanged. Shares in Petroleum Geo – Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.24% or 2.11 to 31.68. Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.90% or 1.28 to $45.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 0.90 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.76% or 8.40 to trade at $1110.40 a troy ounce. EUR/NOK was up 0.09% to 9.2203, while USD/NOK fell 0.40% to 8.1875. The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 95.60.
