Norway’s jobless rate stayed above economists’ expectations in October, the labor force survey from Statistics Norway revealed Tuesday.
The unemployment rate came in at 3.8 percent in October, up 0.3 percentage points from July. But this increase was within the error margin, the statistical office said. The expected rate for October was 3.7 percent.
The rate for October indicates the average of September to November period and the July figure reflects June to August period.
There were 103,000 unemployed persons in October, up by 9,000 from July. The seasonally-adjusted number of employed persons decreased by 5,000 from July to October, a decrease which was within the error margin.
