Malta’s trade deficit decreased from a year ago in July, a report from the National Statistics Office of Malta showed Thursday.
The trade deficit came in at EUR 276.3 million in May, less than the EUR 299.4 million recorded in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Exports increased to EUR 311.5 million from EUR 294.9 million in July 2013. Meanwhile, imports fell to EUR 587.8 million in July from EUR 594.3 million in the corresponding month of last year.
In the January to July period, the trade deficit increased EUR 17.5 million over the year to EUR 1.25 billion.
