Hungary’s industrial production growth accelerated in January as estimated in the preliminary report, second estimate from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Thursday.
Industrial production climbed a working-day-adjusted 7.7 percent year-over-year in January, in line with the flash estimate, faster than December’s 4.7 percent growth.
Industrial production has been increasing since June 2013 and the latest rate of growth was the highest in seven seven months.
Production in the manufacturing sector advanced 5.3 percent annually in January and mining and quarrying output jumped by 18.0 percent.
On an unadjusted basis, industrial production rose 5.3 percent in January from the prior year, matching the preliminary report, but slower than previous month’s 7.1 percent hike.
On a monthly basis, industrial production grew a seasonally and working-day-adjusted 4.3 percent in January, confirming the flash estimate. In December, production had fallen 1.6 percent.
