Hong Kong will on Thursday release August numbers for imports, exports and trade balance, setting the pace for a modest day in Asia-Pacific economic activity.
In July, imports were worth HKD368.29 billion and exports were at HKD326.16 billion for a trade deficit of HKD42.13 billion.
Malaysia will provide July figures for unemployment; in June, the jobless rate was 2.7 percent.
The Philippines will announce trade data for July; in June, imports were worth $4.72 billion and exports were at $5.45 billion for a trade surplus of $731 million.
Japan will see August numbers for corporate service prices, with analysts expecting no change from the 3.7 percent gain in July.
