The Federal Labor Agency will release its unemployment report for Germany at 3:55 am ET Thursday. The jobless rate is expected to remain at 6.7 percent in August. The number of unemployed people is estimated to fall by 5,000 in August, after dropping by 12,000 in the previous month.
Ahead of the data, the euro showed mixed trading against the other major currencies. While the euro held steady against the franc, it rose against the rest of major currencies.
The euro was worth 1.3209 against the greenback, 137.06 against the yen, 0.7964 against the pound and 1.2067 against the franc as of 3:50 am ET.
