Bulgaria’s current account surplus decreased in July from a year ago, preliminary figures from the Bulgarian National Bank showed Thursday.
The current account surplus fell to EUR 344.1 million in July from EUR 528.7 million in the corresponding month last year.
The deficit on goods trade widened to EUR 223.2 million in July from EUR 92.9 million in the previous year. Meanwhile, the surplus on services trade shrank to EUR 507.1 million from EUR 643.6 million.
The primary income deficit came in at EUR 86.1 million in July, up from EUR 106.2 million a year earlier. At the same time, the secondary income surplus climbed to EUR 146.3 million from EUR 84.2 million.
The capital account surplus decreased slightly to EUR 98.8 million from EUR 106.4 million in the same month of the previous year, while financial account surplus grew notably to EUR 585.9 million from EUR 106.3 million.
