The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Monday.
The Australian dollar rose to a 5-day high of 0.9919 against the Canadian dollar, from Friday’s closing quote of 0.9877.
Moving away from an early low of 1.4591 against the euro, the aussie edged up to 1.4513.
Against the yen, the aussie edged up to 91.67 from an early near a 1-year low of 90.61.
The aussie edged up to 0.7793 against the U.S. dollar, from last week’s closing value of 0.7756.
If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.00 against the loonie, 0.80 against the greenback, 95.50 against the yen and 1.39 against the euro.
